Golden. Potent. Restorative.

Unlike pre-ground powder, whole pieces of Curcuma longa preserve the volatile oils and curcuminoids in their most stable, natural state — delivering the full therapeutic spectrum of this golden root with every brew.

Why Turmeric Pieces?

  • Full-Spectrum Bioavailability — Steeping the whole pieces releases more active compounds than refined extracts, helping to balance inflammation and support systemic resilience throughout the body.
  • Joint & Brain Health — Traditionally used to support cognitive clarity, maintain flexible and comfortable joints, and protect against the cumulative effects of oxidative stress.
  • Rapid Curcuminoid Absorption — Drinking Golden Tea allows curcuminoids to absorb through the mucosal lining for faster systemic entry and a more immediate therapeutic effect.
  • Whole Root Integrity — Preserved in piece form to lock in volatile oils and active compounds until the moment of brewing — nothing lost, nothing compromised.

Traditional Benefits

Curcuma longa pieces are the raw, unadulterated heart of the turmeric plant. Classified in traditional herbalism as "warming, drying, and blood-moving", they are deeply respected for their ability to provide a more "sustained and reaching" effect when prepared as a long-simmered decoction.

Why Choose Pieces?

  • Decoction-Ready: Unlike powder, pieces are designed to be simmered. This process breaks down the fibrous structure of the root, allowing for a slower, more thorough release of its curcuminoids, essential oils, and resins into your brew.
  • Complexity & Depth: Because you are using the whole piece, you receive the full complexity of the rhizome’s natural chemistry, resulting in a tea that is deep, aromatic, and layered in its traditional support.

Key Physiological Properties:

  • Deep-Action Inflammatory Support: Traditionally used to maintain healthy joint function and tissue comfort through sustained, deep-tissue delivery.
  • Metabolic Grounding: The long-steep process extracts a more "substantial" tonic that is traditionally valued for its deep, grounding effect on the digestion and liver.
  • "Warming" Longevity: By simmering, you release the deeper "warming" oils that help dissipate long-standing stiffness and stagnation.

How To Use

  • Boil 4 cups of water. Then add 1 teaspoon of turmeric and reduce to simmer for 8 - 10min. This will extract the beneficial compounds from the turmeric. Ginger, honey, or lemon may be added to enhance the flavour of the turmeric tea. Can drink two to three times per day.
  • The Ritual: Best used as a "Golden Ritual." Preparing a cup of Turmeric is an act of deep, radiant self-care. As the golden colour deepens in your pot, it is a reminder to slow down, nourish your body, and invest in the long-term health of your joints and internal systems.

Safety & Precautions

• Turmeric can have mild blood-thinning properties. If you are on anticoagulant medication, consult your doctor before using therapeutic amounts.
• Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
• Keep out of reach of children.
FAQs

Why use pieces instead of powder?

Turmeric pieces provide a richer, more authentic infusion. They also give you visual proof of the high-quality, whole-root botanical you are using for your medicine.

Is this only for joint pain?

Not at all! While it is famous for joint support, Turmeric is a foundational tonic for the liver, digestion, and general systemic resilience.

Can I mix this with other herbs?

It is a phenomenal team player. It pairs beautifully with Ginger and Black Pepper for an "Anti-Inflammatory Synergy" blend that is a staple in every professional apothecary.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR HERBS

infusion

Infusion (The Gentle Extract)

Best For: Flowers, leaves, and aerial parts.
Method: Steeping in hot (not boiling) water.
Goal: Preserves delicate oils and nutrients.
Feel: Mild, aromatic, and nourishing.
Think of this as an elevated tea ritual. Because leaves and flowers are delicate, boiling them can damage their beneficial essential oils and volatile compounds.

The Method:
  • Pour hot (approx. 85°C–90°C) water over your herbs.
  • The Time: Cover and steep for 5–15 minutes. Covering is key—it prevents the plant's aromatic oils from escaping with the steam.
  • Best For: Chamomile, Lemon Balm, and delicate floral blends.

Cold infusions

Herbs best suited for cold infusions are those high in mucilage (like marshmallow root) or those with delicate, volatile oils (like peppermint and lemon balm). Steeping these in cold water overnight extracts their maximum benefits and flavours while preventing bitterness and preserving sensitive phytonutrients.

How to Prepare

Prep: Use a ratio of 1 tablespoon of dried herb (or 2 tablespoons fresh) per 1 cup of cold, filtered water.
Steep: Combine in a glass jar, cover tightly, and leave at room temperature or in the refrigerator for 6 to 12 hours (overnight is ideal).
Strain: Strain out the herbs thoroughly before drinking, warm water can be added to the drink if warm liquids is your preference. Do not heat in microwave.

decoction

Decoction (The Deep Extract)

Best For: Roots, bark, seeds, and woody stems.
Method: Simmering in water over heat.
Goal: Softens tough fibres to release compounds.
Feel: Concentrated, earthy, and potent.

How to Prepare (The "Simmer")

This is a more intensive process for tougher materials. Roots, barks, and woody seeds are "locked" behind dense cell walls; a simple soak isn't enough to get the goodness out.
The Method: Place your herbs in a pot with cold water. Slowly bring it to a gentle boil, then lower the heat and simmer.
The Time: Simmer for 15–20 minutes. Keep the lid on to maintain the potency.
Best For: Yellow Dock, White Willow Bark, Wild Yam, and woody roots or dense seeds.

Herbal Poultice

  • Place the recommended amount of dried herbs into a bowl.
  • Add just enough boiling water to moisten the herbs, creating a thick paste.
  • Allow the mixture to cool until it is comfortably warm (not hot enough to burn the skin).
  • Spread the herbs evenly onto a clean piece of muslin, gauze, or cotton cloth and fold the cloth over to enclose the herbs.
  • Apply the warm poultice directly to the affected area for 15–30 minutes, or as needed.
  • Remove the poultice and discard the used herbs. Prepare a fresh poultice for each application.

Helpful Tips
Do not apply to broken skin, open wounds, or infected areas unless advised by a qualified healthcare practitioner. If irritation occurs, discontinue use immediately.
